Let Your Mind Wander, At the Albright-Knox Art Gallery
Next time you travel to Buffalo NY, you must visit the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, near Advanced Endodontics of Buffalo. You can let your imagination go wild with all the modern masterworks available for viewing. Modern art is considered to be any artwork from 1860-1970, where artists changed the traditional view and made it was they thought it should be. The modern masterwork is described as being extremely good, or the best the artist has ever produced.
There is nothing more fun than walking up and down the hallways and looking at the artwork. Artists love to do their own interpretations of how they see things. Artists invite you to look at the world in a new way. It is fun to look at paintings or any type of artwork with others. Take turns describing what you see, and what they see. It opens your minds to a whole different view.
The museum has been around since 1862 and collecting different pieces ever since. It features such artists as, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Frances Bacon, and so many newer artists, as well. It is a huge Greek Neoclassical building built in 1905, surrounded by three different streets. There are also numerous sculptures for you to stroll around and admire as well as the works inside.
The Albright-Knox museum has many collections that were given or bequeathed to them over the years, as well as special exhibits throughout the years. It houses the largest collection of Clifford Still, of which he personally donated. The list of ever-growing donations makes for one of the largest permanent collections in the country. This increases the need for expansions.
The museum campus located on the Elmwood Avenue side will be closed, beginning November 4, 2009, for construction, but will reopen in early 2020. Not to fear, there is a new project space that will open in January of 2020, on the Northland Avenue side. The hours of operation for the museum are 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM Tuesday through Sundays.
